Activity

After dressing and applying makeup, participants are transformed into geisha costumes!

Why not try the experience of dressing up as a geisha, complete with white-lacquered makeup, a traditional Japanese wig, and a beautiful kimono at Ikoi-za? This unique facility is connected to Ureshino Onsen Kotobukiya, where you can indulge in 100% pure hot spring water from the source.

Photography Event

While enjoying wearing geisha outfits, have your picture taken by a professional photographer at Sumire Photography Studio. We will also instruct you on how to pose in a geisha-like manner.

Enjoy hot springs, known as one of Japan's three best hot springs for beautiful skin

After the photo shoot, take off your makeup. You can also take a relaxing bath in the hot spring.

About Ureshino Traditional Arts Center

The purpose of this activity is to preserve the cultural tradition of dancing with Japanese wigs, white make-up, and a yukimono, which has been passed down through generations in Ureshino Onsen. This traditional performing art, rich in local heritage, is aimed to be promoted both within Japan and internationally. Additionally, the activity seeks to cultivate new generations of artists to carry on this unique art form.

  • Dressing / Photography (about 90 minutes)

    Makeup, dressing, and wigs will be applied, and the photo will be taken at Sumire Photo Studio.*Men are also allowed (this is also popular as a men's cross-dressing activity)

  • Geisha dress-up activity (about 30 minutes)

    You can choose to participate in either a stroll through the hot spring resort area or a practice session.

    After the activity is over, take off your make-up. You can also take a relaxing soak in the hot spring.

[Precautions]
Due to the size of the kimono, the experience is only available to those who are at least 150 cm tall.
(Even if you are under 16 years old, you can experience it at the same price as long as you meet the height requirement.)

[About the hot spring]
This hot spring is famous as one of the three best hot springs in Japan for beautiful skin, and is 100% free-flowing from the source.
The duration of use is 50 minutes.


The experience fee includes the bathing fee of JPY 700 (including bath tax of JPY 50), towel rental of JPY 100, and bath towel rental of JPY 200.


Please pay the bathing fee of JPY 700 (including bath tax of JPY 50) on site.
Towels can be rented for JPY 100 and bath towels for JPY 200.


Please pay JPY 150 for bath tax for the number of people staying at the inn.
*If you are applying for the activity and your accompanying guests are also staying overnight, you will need to pay an additional JPY 150.
